Why should you hire a cleaning maid through an agency?

Bringing in an outsider to do your domestic cleaning may seem like a luxury, but the amount of time and hassle a cleaning maid will save you makes it well worth the investment.

If you’re still unsure of whether to bring a maid in to clear away – quite literally – your dirty laundry, here are a few key points to consider.

How much time do you have? cleaner

Hiring a cleaning service can save you, first and foremost, time. If you work full time, keeping a spotless house can be incredibly challenging. Working all day just to come home and do a “second shift” of laundry, washing up and hoovering is exhausting and does little to alleviate the stress of your working day.

This is especially true if you have little ones running around. It’s hard enough to squeeze family time between work, school and the whirlwind of modern life. Who wants to waste precious time at the kitchen sink?

How good are you at cleaning – really?

It may be pretty obvious that cleaners clean for a living, but the difference that their experience can make in your home is impossible to ignore. Someone who spends every day cleaning all kinds of houses will simply notice things that you don’t.

When, for example, is the last time you cleaned your shower head? Do you really scrub your floors or dust those books at the top of the shelf? You may think that these things are too small to matter, but someone who notices all of those blankets of dust you have been studiously ignoring will make a big difference in how clean your home feels.

You also have to consider technique and products. Someone who cleans for a living will be faster and more efficient than you could ever be, and they’ll have the correct tools for the job. There’s nothing like coming home to a really clean house. After years of rushed evening cleans, why not give your home the love it deserves?

Should you go through an agency?

You may be able to find a cleaner without the help of an agency, but doing so runs all kinds of risks. While you may think you’re getting a better deal, the premium you pay an agency to find you a maid is well worth it.

An agency, for example, will have put a lot of time and resources into vetting any cleaner they send you. That means you know that the person in your home is someone you can trust, whether or not you’re there to supervise.

An agency will also often have some kind of insurance, so if the maid they sent damages your home in any way you have recourse to some money back.

Finally, an agency will have an entire selection of people for you to choose from. If your schedule changes suddenly or your usual cleaner is ill or on holiday, the agency can send another one of their trusted employees to cover. Unless you have the time to vet and supervise each potential employee – and your schedule is flexible enough to work around your cleaner – an agency is the way to go.
