- » How long will it take you to find me a maid?
We try to supply you with a suitable cleaner within 24 hours. Sometimes it may take a little longer depending on where you are, what days you want etc.
- » Who will be cleaning my home?
We make every effort to send the same cleaner each visit. However, sometimes due to illness, vacations, or other reasons, we may have to substitute another cleaner to clean your home.
- » Can I specify the days for the cleaning?
Yes, you can specify the days for cleaning and we will make every effort to meet your requirements.
- » Do I have to be home when you clean?
Not at all. In fact, many clients prefer to give us a key so we can clean when they are away.
All keys in our possession are given a code designation and are secured when not in use. If you wish to hide a key on your premises, please call the office with the location so we can notify the team prior to their arrival.
- » May I trust the people you send to my home?
We very carefully check the people we hire and we guarantee our customer’s security. All of our cleaners are trained, vetted and insured so you should not be worry if any breakage or damage happen during the cleaning. We may provide references for our cleaners upon request.
- » What areas do you cover?
Home Maid clean covers all areas within the M25.
- » I am moving out from my current home. May I keep the same cleaner at the new place?
For each customer, we strive to assign a cleaner who is local and who won’t have to travel a lot to come to your property. Should you move in the same area you will be able to keep the same cleaner. In case you are moving to an area that is far away from your current home then we will assign you a new cleaner who will be as good as your previous.
- » Is there a minimum number of hours per cleaning visit?
You need to book at least 3 hours per cleaning visit. If you book 4 hours or more per week you can spread them to 2 or more cleaning visits. In this case the minimum number of hours per cleaning visit is 2.
- » What if something was missed and I am unhappy with my cleaning?
Please call us within 24 hours if something was missed during your cleaning. We try very hard to please our clients, but sometimes we do make mistakes. We guarantee our services, so we will return to correct the problem at no additional charge.
If something small was missed that you would just like to bring to our attention, please do send us feedback, call, email, or leave a note for the team the next time they come out.
But please do let us know, we would not want to make the same mistake twice. Communication is very important. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume everything is well.

- » Do I have to pay anything when I do not require cleaning due to a holiday or business trip?
No! You only pay when you have a cleaning session.
We require at least 24 hours notice before the day you go away and the date when you would like the cleaner to come when you are back.
Carpet / upholstery cleaning
- » What methods of carpet cleaning do you use?
The carpet cleaning method Home Maid Clean uses is hot water extraction, also known as steam cleaning. Nearly all carpet manufacturers and carpet fiber producers recommend that method.
- » Is there anything I should do to prepare for your arrival?
All you need to do before the carpet cleaner come is to remove any small bits, toys, shoes that are on the carpet. Please also remove from the carpet any breakable items such as pictures, photo frames, standing lamps. We carefully move all reasonable furniture and put it back in place.
- » How often should my carpet be cleaned?
Even though you vacuum your carpet on a regular basis you still have to steam clean your carpets. Thus the life of the carpet will be extended, it will be revived and the most important of the steam cleaning is that all the dirt that is stuck in the carpet will be removed as well the dust and dust mites. We recommend the steam cleaning to be done once or twice a year. Should you or anyone from your family is allergy sufferer that the cleaning should be done more frequently.
Note: We also strongly recommend Scotchgard protector to be applied at the end. It will prevent the carpet from permanent stains and make future cleaning more effective. Ask your technician about Scothgard ©protector.
- » Can you clean my carpet or upholstery while I am at work?
Yes, of course.
You can leave a set of keys to your neighbour, porter or letting/estate agent. Please provide the name and the telephone number of the person we should collect them from. After the cleaning is done, the technician either can return the keys to the person who he had collected them from or to drop them through the letterbox.
Please note that we may charge you £10.00 if keys have to be picked up from a different postcode. We insist that you are present at the time of completion so you can inspect the results and pay any outstanding balances to the carpet/upholstery cleaner.
- » What is the normal dry time after the carpets are cleaned?
Typically, if there is ventilation in the room or it is a warm day it will take roughly 2-3 hrs depending on what type of carpet and conditions. Depending on the humidity, it could take longer. On days that are dry (with low humidity), it may actually take less than 2 hours.
- » How soon can I walk on my carpet?
After the cleaning the carpet will need some time to dry completely. Usually it takes around 2 to 5 hours depends on the weather outside. After the treatment the carpet cleaner will give you overshoes to wear above your shoes so you can be able to walk on the carpet. Walking on the newly washed carpet you may leave traffic marks on the carpet after the technician from Home Maid Clean cleans it.
- » I have asthma and I am concerned about the chemicals that you use?
The solutions that we use are eco-friendly and absolutely nontoxic. They are safe for people with sthma, allergies, children and pets. By steam cleaning your carpet and upholstery the soil that is built up will be removed and the allergens will be reduced.
- » How do you calculate the rate for the carpet cleaning?
We gather information from you about the carpeted rooms and their sizes and we will provide you a quote for the whole job. We also offer a Free Non-obligation quotation on site. Please note that we offer volume discounts.
- » Do you do Scotchguard or stain protection?
Yes, we provide Scotchguard© or stain protection to all types of carpets.
- » What happens if I am dissatisfied with the service?
In the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with our cleaning services Home Maid Clean will re-do the job free of charge.
